Pottery workshops
Why is it worth trying your hand at creating ceramics ? There are as many ideas as there are heads. To try something new..., to free your head for a few moments and occupy your hands..., to try to create your own variation on a product that you particularly liked..., to spend time with friends in completely new circumstances. There can be many ideas.
Our studio offers both hand-sculpting workshops and classes on the basics of turning on a potter's wheel.
WORKSHOP ON THE BASICS OF POTTERY (TURNING ON A POTTERY WHEEL).
They include four meetings, each two hours long. Classes for people who definitely like to have their hands dirty while working, often up to their elbows (often not ending with their hands). Classes introducing the world of potter's work.
The workshops are intimate, with a maximum of 2 participants.
HAND MOLDY WORKSHOPS, which we have divided into two types of meetings:
Two-day workshop.
We meet twice, each meeting lasting approximately two and a half hours.
FIRST MEETING:
A bit of theory will really come in handy, we will try to shorten this stage to the necessary minimum and not bore you completely.
We create, meaning you create with our support. The first meeting is manual sculpting of your own projects using selected techniques (the most optimal for a given project).
Number of items to be fired - up to three pieces (including one flat piece, e.g. a plate)
SECOND MEETING:
Decorating biscuit-fired works using glazes or underglaze paints.
Due to the structure of the workshops, they do not include retouching of works before glazing, so we suggest perfecting your work at the first meeting.
Workshops are held on Mondays, starting at 6:30 p.m. There is a two-week break between the first and second meeting, so that the works created by the participants can dry and then be fired to a biscuit finish.
The maximum number of participants is 5 people.
Cyclic workshops.
Cyclic workshops are aimed at both beginners and those who would like to continue their adventure of creating with clay.
DURATION - four meetings lasting two hours each.
The number of items is a maximum of two shelves in the glaze firing kiln.
An additional shelf during firing costs PLN 50.
Within a single pass:
Hand-made modelling of your own designs using selected techniques (modelling "from a ball", modelling from rolls and forming from a sheet).
Possibility to create works in various techniques, e.g. Sgraffito and Kurinuki
Retouching works before or after bisque firing
Decorating biscuit-fired works using glazes, engobes, and underglaze paints.
Occasional workshops.
We cordially invite companies/organizations/organized groups willing to take advantage of individual classes. The form, scope, price and dates will be agreed on each time with interested persons.
